|Our artists this month are
Jessica Coven Stenson and
William A. (Andy) Stenson.Jessica and Andy Stenson live in Shaker Heights. They own and operate a wood-working business that focuses on food-related wood products, salad bowls, cutting boards, and wooden spoons. They sell their handcrafted products year round at the Shaker Square farmers market.
When Jessica is not carving spoons, she draws flowers from life, photos, and memory. Using all kinds materials, chalk pastel, makeup, bits of found broken jewelry, Jessica, seeks to make the ephemeral gesture of giving flowers a little less fleeting.
Andy’s intention as an artist has always been to create beauty. He uses symmetry and geometry to reference the natural world with both his imagery and use of wood while exercising skilled craftsmanship.
